The Royal Monetary Authority of Bhutan issued a 100-ngultrum banknote and 500-ngultrum coin to commemorate the royal wedding of King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck and Queen Jetsun Pema, which took place on 13 October 2011 in Punakha.
The notes and coins were available for three weeks at a cost of 500 ngultrum and 5,000 ngultrum, respectively.
