General information about the 1997 Franc Issues In July 1998, the Congolese franc (subunit: centime) was reintroduced at a rate of 1:100,000 nouveaux zaïres. The bank used various printers to produce the notes. The printer imprint is located at lower right on the back, below the denomination.
