General information: In 1982, the first series of notes consisted of denominations of 100, 500, and 1,000 vatu, all available undated in issued and specimen varieties.
While each note has its own clearly distinguishable color scheme, all three notes share a similar front
design of the country’s coat of arms: a Melanesian chief standing holding a spear, above a banner which reads Long God yumi stanap (pidgin English: In God we stand).
